Course Description

Module 1: This module dives into the nuanced process of assessing a client’s suitability for telehealth, balancing their preferences with what truly supports their therapeutic growth. Through insights from Baumes et al. (2020) and a practical checklist, you’ll explore key factors such as technology access, environment suitability, and cultural considerations. By the end of this module, you’ll feel confident assessing whether your client is a suitable fit for telehealth - or not.

Module 2: In this module, we move beyond theory and into real-world application, demonstrating how to assess a client’s suitability for telehealth and navigate difficult conversations when telehealth isn’t the best fit. You’ll watch your instructor role-play sessions with a client to showcase practical approaches to evaluating key factors like technology access, environment suitability, and therapeutic goals. Learn how to address client preferences with empathy and professionalism while maintaining a focus on what supports their growth and success in therapy. Through these examples, you’ll gain the tools and confidence to handle tough conversations and make client-centered, ethically sound decisions.
