HELLO CAREER CRAFTERS!

You are on the precipice – RIGHT NOW! I mean really – here you are – investing in yourself 🔥 and your career! You mean business.

I am Dr. MJ Rose, and I have known significant frustration with my profession - specifically from a sense that we (clinicians) do not have the right to be human! We SHOULD care thoughtfully for clients, but that does not mean ignoring our own needs or worse bracketing our values - a term I have heard used many times by professional organization administrators. How can a professional that values holistic wellness ask clinicians to set aside who they are when in the room with clients?

I fear that as a counselor educator, I have conveyed that message to too many students and young professionals. One day I had enough, and I committed to finding a different way to help clinicians practice ethically, but practice as who they are - without apology. This course represents years of consideration as to how to be a whole person in the room with clients without imposing our values onto them.

At The Counselor Edge, LLC we believe in PASSION! We get into this profession because we want to help, right? RIGHT? So, we dove in to our passions headfirst and practiced engaging our passions while working as educators, clinicians, and supervisors.

To do this I had to remind myself of my passion - what sparks my desire to care for others. Then I had to assess my values and whether they matched my passions. That reflection and the activities I engaged to re-design my career were life-changing - and definitely career changing. I actually left my role as the director of a clinical mental health counseling program so I could teach passion - not just profession.

I hope that through the process of this course, you find your passion. I hope that passion reignites a flame in you to be fully who you are so and helps you re-design a professional brand that forever keeps you healthy and joyful!

Here are your four learning objectives for your course:

  1. By the end of this module, participants will be able to analyze their original motivations for entering the counseling profession and construct a Personal Affirmation that reflects their core purpose, empowering them to maintain focus on meaningful aspects of their work.
  2. By the end of this module, participants will be able to construct a Strengths Shield by categorizing their core counseling strengths, personal strengths, supportive relationships, and inspirational values, which will serve as a visual tool to reinforce their professional resilience and confidence.
  3. By the end of this module, participants will be able to design a personalized Self-Care Blueprint by identifying self-care practices that meet their emotional, physical, social, and professional needs, and develop a flow chart to implement and adjust their self-care routine over time.
  4. By the end of this module, participants will be able to formulate a Professional Brand Statement by synthesizing their purpose, value proposition, unique approach, and brand voice, allowing them to differentiate their practice in a way that aligns with their authentic professional identity.

Are you ready to craft bridges over clinical crossroads and be the healthiest and passionate clinician you can be?

Let's do this together!
